Summer 2024
Project Guerrillzilla is underway!
With the popularity of the new 7.3 Godzilla engine we knew we had to swap one into something... after a few silly ideas we decided a S550 Mustang was the way as we haven't built a S550 either. A few months of searching found a high mile and slightly rough 2015 Ecoboost Mustang, the perfect candidate.
The new project is a replacement for the Panoz so has to be track worthy and decent to drive on the street. As new cars are getting heavier all the time we needed to shed some weight. Non-essentials are out - like AC and the monster heater box. The basic interior plastic trim will go back in and only weighs about 40 lbs all together. The stock dash will remain but be stripped down.

Making Room
The Big Hole
There's no question the Godzilla is heavier than a Coyote so key to making it work on the road course is to move it back for proper weight balance. The firewall was in the way so a bit of recip saw work made room for the engine.
Does it Fit?
Lots of room.
Just a quick mock up to see that it fits in quite nicelyThe Godzilla is quite narrow so there's lots of header and valve cover clearance. The front of the balancer sits about centre line of the wheels.

The Godzilla
445 ci
We are using a low mile 7.3 Godzilla, we stripped it down, checked it out and it all looked good. Engine mods include light head porting, BTR camshaft, and Morel lifters. We will use a Holley intake so it tucks under the windshield and a 87mm GT350 throttle body

ECU Test Fire
Engine is running. We are using a MaxxECU on this project mainly to control the DCT transmission (more on that later) and this is the first Godzilla to run on Maxx. Wiring was pretty straight forward and Maxxecu is very configurable so it wasn't too tough to get it going. Drive by wire uses the Mustang gas pedal and variable cam timing is working.
