Panoz
The Panoz project fulfilled our desire to have a street legal tube frame race car as well as learning ins and outs of a Coyote Swap.
2018
The Beginning
The project started with a never used Panoz fibreglass body and frame. It was actually the display for the Panoz Race school and sat most of its life in the lobby of a hotel. When we received there was bit of front suspension and a chunk solid tube for the rear, the wheels bolted on and allowed the car to roll around.
2018
Chassis Complete
We finished some welding and strengthening on the frame and relocated some tubes to fit the Coyote. Lots of heat shielding and insulation was used to keep things cool and quiet.
2019
Go Kart!
We built a naturally aspirated Gen 2 Coyote with ported heads and cams. Custom long tube headers with side exhaust were utilized. In the fall of 2019 we brought the running chassis out to one of the autocross events to test the mechanicals before getting into the body work. The Coyote made 545 hp with a Cobra Jet intake and twin 65mm throttle body. The ECU is a Ford Performance Controls pack tuned by Lund Racing.

Body Work....
sanding..sanding...sanding.....
A lot of custom fibreglass work was done on the body including building door, head light buckets, tilt front end, splitter, wing etc. This is one of our first few drives in bat mobile trim, the flat black epoxy primer used before wrapping
2020
We finished the full interior with a carbon dash and Cobra seats. A Ecumaster ADU digital dash was used and allows data logging, track mapping and lap times. A carbon roof scoop is used for the 'climate control'

Track Days
While the Panoz is street legal and fairly comfortable to drive around in, its main intention was to run fast lap times at track events. Here it is ripping around our local track, Rocky Mountain Motorsports
2023
Twin Turbos
Booooost!!
In the winter of 2023 we decided a twin turbo setup would be a cool addition. One of the main reasons was to quiet the exhaust as most of the tracks have sound limits now and the Panoz would exceed the limits regularly. Going home early is no fun! Of course a more power never hurts, although we only run around 6-7 lbs of boost for about 700hp. This keeps it very reliable and sensible to drive.
Twin Borg Warner turbos are tucked right in front of the doors and fed into a twin in-out custom intercooler. We switched up to a Boss 302 intake and round throttle body as they work much nicer with boost. FIC 1000 injectors and a Walbro 450lph pump supply the fuel.
